Leading your own pilgrimage

“To go on pilgrimage is not simply to visit a place to admire its treasures of nature, art or history. To go on pilgrimage really means to step out of ourselves in order to encounter God where he has revealed himself, where His grace has shone with particular splendour and produced rich fruits of conversion and holiness among those who believe.”

Why lead your own pilgrimage

Just like your other church programs, spiritual/pilgrimage travel is intended to grow your community’s faith, strengthen their spiritual understanding, and develop a greater and deeper fellowship between participants. But, often, pastors don’t know where to start or how to approach their people about such a topic. One of the best ways to gauge interest in your church/community is to simply ask if they might be interested.

How to start

When you’re ready to move forward, there are four things that you need to think about that will directly impact the successfulness and overall cost of your pilgrimage/spiritual journey:

Where do you want to go?
How long should you be gone?
What time of year should you travel?
How many people will likely travel with you?

Faith Journeys invites you to lead your congregation on one of our available pilgrimages to experience your own inspirational quest of faith.

A pilgrimage to the Holy Land is a rare and privileged event. Every person of faith should make such a trip a priority in one's life.
